My Apartment
Apartment
Life
So… I have moved into an
apartment! It’s not the largest, but I love it. From a previous post you can
read about all of the crazy nerves I had about coming here, but you guys
honestly there was no need. So my four bed room two bath came with the basics, washer-dryer
combo, a refrigerator/ freezer, dish washer, as well as a coffee table, 4 bar
stools, a couch and an arm chair. When I came the walls seemed a terrifying
shade of white and the rooms where drab. Slowly we are getting the apartment to
a place that we like. We hung a tapestry where a TV is meant to be, we hung
pictures, fabric, signs and of course a ton of candles. This place is beginning
to feel more and more like home so with subtle changes we are covering those
annoying white walls and making it a fun inviting place for my friends and me.
So this is the island, we wrapped it with fairy lights and it
brightened up the apartment a lot.
This is our little seating area and a side table. It has
books and in this pick a book called “Cannibals and Cult Killers”.
Here’s our entertainment area. We have our movies here, a
printer and board games (when we watch movies we’ll move our television out
here). The cake pan and dome are from a neighboring Goodwill, the candle
holders where a birthday gift from my mother. My beautiful roommate brought the
elephant and that tapestry and I do not know where they are from.
I got this sign today at TJMaxx. I love Edgar Allen Poe and
this sign made me think of his poems. I purchased it and my roommates were kind
enough to let me hang it in the living area.
This is my room. I got the bedspread on Etsy, the sheets at
Target and I found that fabric in my home. My friend made the canvas for me and
I am obsessed with it, it says “Far Away Is Never Too Far For Friends”.
My bookshelf is made of crates that my mom brought from
Zurich. The lamp was from Target and the fake candles are from Marshalls. The
books are on top, then school supplies and finally my art supplies and my
little skull.
This is my study area. I have a “Post It” calendar, a dry
erase board, a clipboard, my printer and an article to remind me of how lucky I
am to have the opportunities I have.
My closet is covered in mirrors and I hate that from my bed I
can see myself. So I covered it with my bad ass poster.
Here is my guinea pig Edgar Allen Pig in his new habitat.
My door like all things here is
all white so I covered it with an amazing “The Fault in our Stars “poster.
Here’s my balcony. We have two lawn chairs, citronella
candles to keep the bugs away and a yoga mat for our feet. One of my roommates
smokes so we wanted to give her a nice place to sit and a great place for us
all to hang out with our friends.
